The Afrikan Poetry Theatres APT mission is to preserve and perpetuate"Black Art" Culture and Tradition through creative programming Including but not limited to theatre film music dance spoken word and to promote cross-cultural awareness understanding and socialization through traditional and digital art disciplines. Incorporated since 1976 we continue to expand in order to offera diverse roster of cultural activities that are of interest to our multi-cultural cluster of constituents. For over 4 decades our programs have included childrens cultural workshops dance drama classes Jazz ,Hip Hop and African music concerts lectures acting classes film making classes martial arts classes ESL theatre classes ,conferences seminars make-up & beauty classes book writing workshops poetry readings & workshops open mics drum & piano classes Black History Month Film Festival art exhibits job readiness training mentoring Summer Youth Employment,Youth S.T.E.A.M
