THE MISSION OF THE FOUNDATION IS TO PRESERVE AND MAINTAIN FOR THE COMMUNITY THE HISTORIC 1840'S BUILDINGS OF THE TAVERN CLUB AT 4, 5 AND 6 BOYLSTON PLACE IN DOWNTOWN BOSTON'S PIANO ROW HISTORIC DISTRICT; AND TO PRESERVE AND MAINTAIN FOR THE COMMUNITY ITS HISTORIC ART COLLECTION AND ARCHIVES, INCLUDING PICTURES, PLAYS, MUSICAL SCORES, SCRIPTS, PLAYBILLS AND OTHER HISTORIC MATERIALS DATING TO 1884 IN ORDER TO PERPETUATE THE EDUCATION OF POSTERITY WITH REGARD TO THE ARCHITECTURAL, HISTORIC AND GENERAL CULTURAL HERITAGE OF THE TAVERN CLUB FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC.
