THE PURPOSE OF THIS ASSOCIATION IS TO (1) FOSTER GREATER CULTURAL UNDERSTANDINGBETWEEN OREGONIANS AND IMMIGRANTS; (2) PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO THEPUBLIC TO LEARN ABOUT THE IMMIGRANT STORY AND THEIR TRADITIONS AND CUSTOMS; (3) BUILDA BRIDGE OF CULTURAL AWARENESS AND UNDERSTANDING, ETHNIC TOLERANCE, AND STRIVE FOR AMORE HARMONIOUS EXISTENCE; (4) ASSIST RECENT CHINESE IMMIGRANTS AND THE ASIANCOMMUNITY IN OREGON WHO ARE IN NEED OF FINANCIAL AND SOCIAL SERVICE AND TOBECOME PRODUCTIVE AND GOOD MEMBERS OF THEIR COMMUNITIES; (5) ENHANCE OURSELVESAS A COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATION TO INCREASE CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, HEALTH EQUITY ANDCOMMUNITY PARTICIPATION WITHIN THE ASIAN COMMUNITIES; AND (6) PROVIDE CIVICLEADERSHIP TRAINING FOR YOUTH.
