Mission

Desert Star Institute for Family Planning is a nonprofit corporation organized and operated to create equitable access to reproductive health care while centering Black and Indigenous People of Color. Our signature programs include medical student and resident training on women's health including all methods of family planning, patient assistance for family planning services for low income and uninsured people, and community education and engagement around issues of reproductive health, rights, and justice. People come to train from across the United States and Canada. We provide invited speakers, host, and sponsor public facing education. We also convene coalitions to advance reproductive health, rights, and justice in our state.
