THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND OTHER VOLUNTEERS WILL ORGANIZE AN ANNUAL FISHING TOURNAMENT IN EMERALD ISLE, NC. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEET AT VARIOUS TIMES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR TO PLAN FOR THE ONE DAY EVENT HELD IN SEPTEMBER. THE ACTIVITY IS FUNDED FROM DONATIONS, ENTRY FEES, A SILENT AUCTION AND LOCAL SPONSORSHIPS. REVENUE GENERATED FROM THE TOURNAMENT IS DEDICATED TO FUNDING ESSENTIAL TOURNAMENT EXPENDITURES, WITH SURPLUS PROCEEDS DIRECTED TOWARDS SUPPORTING LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, FACILITATING THE DREDGING OF EMERALD ISLE WATERWAYS, AND CHAMPIONING VARIOUS COMMUNITY-RELATED PROJECTS OF MERIT.
