THE MISSION OF THE GARY AND JEANETTE HERBERT FOUNDATION IS TO EDUCATE, RAISE AWARENESS, AND PROMOTE UNDERSTANDING OF THE FUNDAMENTAL GOVERNING PRINCIPLES OF OUR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC. THE FOUNDATION WILL PERFORM ITS MISSION BY: - SPONSORING EDUCATIONAL EFFORTS TO EXPAND PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING OF INDIVIDUAL LIBERTIES, CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, FREE MARKET PRINCIPLES, AND APPROPRIATE GOVERNMENT FUNCTIONS - PROMOTING MEANINGFUL DISCOURSE OF THE ROLES OF FEDERAL AND STATE GOVERNMENTS WITHOUT REGARD TO POLITICAL AFFILIATIONS - SUPPORTING THE EFFORTS OF THE HERBERT INSTITUTE FOR PUBLIC POLICY AT UTAH VALLEY UNIVERSITY
