TO MAKE ART ENJOYABLE, INSPIRATIONAL AND ACCESSIBLE TO THE PEOPLE OF NEW LONDON, NEW ENGLAND AND BEYOND. THE LYMAN ALLYN ART MUSEUM PRESERVES, ENHANCES, DISPLAYS AND ILLUMINATES A COLLECTION OF FINE AND DECORATIVE ARTS, HELD IN TRUST FOR THE PUBLIC AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE HIGHEST ETHICAL STANDARDS. THERE IS COMMITMENT TO MAKE THE MUSEUM A GATHERING PLACE FOR LEARNING AND THE PASSIONATE EXCHANGE OF IDEAS THAT EDUCATE, ENRICH AND RESONATE WITH THE LIVES OF ALL IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. THE MUSEUM'S GOAL IS TO REVEAL THE POWER OF ART WITH THOUGHT-PROVOKING EXHIBITIONS AND DYNAMIC PROGRAMS IN AND AROUND THE HISTORIC BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS.
