THE TRUST WAS ESTABLISHED BY HAWAII MEDICAL SERVICE ASSOCIATION ("EMPLOYER") TO FUND A PORTION OF THE COST OF POST-RETIREMENT MEDICAL BENEFITS UNDER THE HAWAII MEDICAL SERVICE ASSOCIATION "PLAN" (AN ERISA WELFARE BENEFITS PLAN) TO HOLD, INVEST AND DISTRIBUTE ASSETS FOR THE PURPOSE THEREOF.
