TO PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE OF INDEPENDENT PETROLEUM DISTRIBUTORS, MARKETERS, JOBBERS AND CONVENIENCE STORE OWNERS AND OPERATORS, AND TO ADVANCE PRINCIPLES AND POLICIES CONSISTENT WITH GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICES; TO SUPPORT CONSTRUCTIVE LEGISLATION BENEFICIAL TO THE PETROLEUM INDUSTRY AND CONVENIENCE STORE BUSINESSES, AND OPPOSE THAT WHICH IS DETRIMENTAL TO THAT INDUSTRY AND THOSE BUSINESSES TO THE EXTENT NOT CONTRARY TO THE PUBLIC INTEREST; TO HELP KEEP THE MEMBERS INFORMED OF CHANGES IN LAWS AND REGULATIONS AFFECTING THEIR BUSINESSES, AND ASSIST THEM IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF AND IN THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH RELEVANT GOVERNMENTAL DEPARTMENTS.
