Mission

The purpose for which this corporation is organized is: To act on behalf of the public interest by means of charitable, educational, or any other activities within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Within these general purposes, the specific purposes include research and public education in the following areas: consumer protection, health and safety, environmental protection and preservation, energy policy and transportation, promotion of democratic processes, corporate and governmental accountability, and other issues of concern to the people of North Carolina and elsewhere.
