A) THE PONTIAC TRANSPORTATION MUSEUM OPENED ITS DOORS TO THE PUBLIC IN MAY 2024. IT IS DEVOTED TO CURATION AND COMMUNICATION OF THE VERY SIGNIFICANT HISTORICAL LEGACY OF WHEELED TRANSPORTATION IN THE PONTIAC MICHIGAN AREA. BEYOND THIS OPERATIONAL MISSION, THE PTM BOARD HAS GUIDED THE ORGANIZATION TO SERVE ITS COMMUNITY IN THE FOLLOWING THREE ASPECTS: (1) ASSIST ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE PONTIAC COMMUNITY BY ATTRACTING HERITAGE TOURISM TO THE AREA, (2) PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH TO THE COMMUNITY FOCUSING ON STEAM TOPICS AND CAPABILITIES, (3) GROW PRIDE IN THE PONTIAC COMMUNITY REGARDING ITS ENVIABLE HISTORY IN TRANSPORTATION. B) ACTIVITIES OF THE MUSEUM INCLUDE: 1. OPEN HOURS EACH WEEK - THURSDAY/FRIDAY/SATURDAY/SUNDAY 2. SEVERAL "OPEN HOUSES" ANNUALLY AND ALSO A 50% DISCOUNT FOR PONTIAC RESIDENTS (RE-EMPHASIZING OUR COMMUNITY RESPONSIBILITIES) 3. COMMUNITY EVENING OUTREACH LECTURES 4. VENUE FOR PRIVATE PARTIES AND SELECTED CIVIC ACTIVITY 5. HOSTING OF SCHOOL CHILDREN AND ASSISTED L
