THE PORTLAND YACHT CLUB WAS FOUNDED IN 1908 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROMOTING GENERAL INTEREST IN THE SPORT OF YACHTING; TO PROVIDE A CLUBHOUSE, MOORAGE AND FACILITIES FOR THE USE OF ITS MEMBERS AND TO AFFORD A MEANS OF GOOD FELLOWSHIP AMOUNG THE DEVOTEES OF YACHTING.
