Shalom Community Impact Center

The mission of the Community Impact Center is to empower refugee and immigrant families in Des Moines Iowa by providing educational economic and social support services that promote self-sufficiency integration and long-term success. The organization provides critical services to support the successful integration of refugees and immigrants into the community including: English Language Classes ESL: Helping newcomers develop essential communication skills for daily life work and education. Digital Literacy and Computer Training: Equipping clients with technology skills needed for employment and accessing services. Employment Support Services: Assisting with job readiness resume writing job applications and interview preparation to promote economic stability. Early Childhood Preschool Program: Providing culturally responsive early learning opportunities for children ages 3-5 to support kindergarten readiness. After-School Tutoring and Youth Programs.
