Mission
The mission of the Southern Appalachian Botanical Society is to promote the study of botany. This is achieved through various means including publishing a journal named "Castanea," a newsletter called "Chinquapin," hosting an annual conference, and providing awards for botanical research. The society focuses on the botany of the eastern United States, fostering both professional and public interest in plant biology
