THE LITTLE OPERA THEATRE OF NY IS A CHAMBER OPERA COMPANY EXPLORING UNCHARTERED CORNERS OF MUSIC BOTH OLD AND NEW. OUR GOAL IS TO STRIP THE ARTIFICE AWAY FROM OPERA AND PRESENT IT AS AN INTIMATE EXPERIENCE, ENABLING THE AUDIENCE TO RECONNECT WITH THE MUSIC, THE PERFORMERS, AND THE STORY. LITTLE AND OPERA DO NOT OFTEN GO TOGETHER. WE USE SCALE TO MAKE OPERA MORE APPROACHABLE TO A NEW PUBLIC, WHILE CHALLENGING EXPERIENCED OPERAGOERS AND PERFORMERS TO THINK DIFFERENTLY ABOUT THE MEDIUM.
