COVERED PARTICIPANTS INCLUDE EMPLOYEES OF THE NEW YORK CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT IN THE TITLES OF FIRE OFFICERS WHO ARE DESIGNATED AS DEPUTY CHIEF, BATTALION CHIEF, CAPTAIN, LIEUTENANT, FIRE MEDICAL OFFICER AND SUPERVISING FIRE MARSHALL. ADDITIONALLY, THE PLAN ALSO PROVIDES BENEFITS TO PARTICIPANTS' SPOUSES AND ELIGIBLE DEPENDENTS, AS WELL AS LINE OF DUTY BENEFICIARIES.
