Weed Warriors, DBA Nature Stewards Program provides opportunities to connect to nature by planting native species in habitat restoration projects, controlling noxious weeds in public parks, trails, & open spaces while educating about environmental stewardship to achieve healthier air, water & land. Provides educational & hands on events that empowers people to become environmental stewards. Provides awareness & the tools to make environmentally friendly decisions. Programs include nature stewardship presentations, invasive weed eradication workshops, hands on removal of invasive & noxious weeds & replanting with native species. The programs promote sustainability & community cohesiveness. Participants have worked storm water runoff mitigation, rain gardens, fruit orchards, food drying, pollinator gardens, planted 1,000s of plants to sequester tons of carbon and other pollutants from the air. Promotes sustainable gardening practices through display gardens and pictures. 100% volunteer!!
