We have three central activities: Our staff provides training and strategy support for Mutual Aid organizations that are meeting needs in our communities where local government is failing. This includes hosting convenings for local organizations throughout the state. We have expanded this work to include giving out awards to working-class heroes who go above and beyond in their communities. We provide non-partisan governance training to local elected officials. This takes the form of regular workshops and as larger summits. Trainings include topics such as Safety, Creative Local Governance Solutions to the Opioid Crisis, and so-on. We train community organizers. This happens through our Governence Program where we coach fellows in the skills of 1-1 meetings, facilitation, strategy, and project management.
