ITS PURPOSE SHALL BE TO DETERMINE THE PUBLIC NEED AS TO EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES, ESTABLISHMENT OF ADDITIONAL EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES WHEN NEEDED, ESTABLISHMENT OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN, AND ADVANCED EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN AND OTHER RELATED TRAINING COURSES THROUGH COUNTY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE COMMITTEES. IN GENERAL, ITS PURPOSE SHALL BE TO IMPROVE THE DELIVERY OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES THROUGH EFFECTIVE AND COORDINATED ARRANGEMENTS OF PERSONNEL, FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT WITHIN THAT REGION, AND SHALL BE AS SET FORTH IN, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ARTICLE 30 OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH LAW AND PART 800 OF THE CODES, RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK.
