THE TRUST HEREUNDER HAS BEEN FORMED FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE PLAN AND ANY BENEFIT PROGRAMS WHICH THE COMPANY, AMERICAN GREETINGS CORPORATION, DESIGNATES FOR INCLUSION IN THE PLAN. IT IS THE INTENTOF THE COMPANY AND THE TRUSTEE THAT THE TRUST FUND BE ADMINISTERED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TERMS OF THE PLAN, EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE EXPRESSLY PROVIDED IN THIS AGREEMENT. THE COMPANY ESTABLISHED THIS TRUST IN ORDER TO FACILITATE ADMINISTRATION OF THE PLAN AND TO PROVIDE EMPLOYEES WITH A GREATER SENSE OF WELFARE BENEFIT UPON RETIREMENT.
