The purpose of the American Legion is to serve the needs of Veterans of all wars, their widows, and dependent children. The American Legion in Cheverly Maryland continued to help our Veterans and the youth of our area. We sponsor the Boy Scouts and the Cub Scouts and allow them to use our building free of charge. We also work with numerous civic organizations to make our community stronger and more patriotic. We contributed to the local church Saint Ambrose, sponsored the local boys and girls sports clubs, and sponsored boys to the American Legion's Boy's State in Maryland.
