Mission

In 2023, Ayiti Demen's impactful work reverberated across the Haitian communities. We provided grants to local organizations and the esteemed local Foundation, FOKAL. The organization's three fundraising campaigns supported projects on sustainable development, arts and culture, and narrative change. We received a three-year grant from the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Foundation to help Haiti recover after the 2021 earthquake. Two-thirds of the grant will go toward combating regional food insecurity through local smallholder farmers organizations. At the same time, one-third will support economic recovery by funding small social enterprises purchasing local products from farmers. During the first year, Ayiti Demen focused on coffee and cocoa production in collaboration with social enterprises and local farmers' associations and supported the construction of a community center.
