Mission

The Carl Maxey Center (CMC) is a Black-led, Black-focused, Non-Profit organization and Community Center, housed in Spokane?s historic East Central neighborhood. We are committed to changing the lives and improving the well-being of Spokane?s African American community in Spokane County, with a particular emphasis and focus on the East Central neighborhood by expanding educational, economic, and cultural opportunities with a focus on Equity, Racial, and Social Justice, Economic Development, Education and Advocacy, Environmental Resilience, and Cultural Enrichment.
