CAPIE's mission is to help all underserved persons in our communities of all races and ethnicities, and not just Asians and Pacific Islanders (API). We are API-focused because tackling inequality is a monumental effort, and we focus many of our efforts on issues facing the API community because of our core strengths-we deeply understand the language and cultural barriers facing the API community. Our programs and research primarily concentrate on serving older adults and persons with disabilities. Our current and future partnerships with other non-API-focused nonprofits reflect our belief that the daunting task of eliminating inequality requires a team effort among government agencies, nonprofits, and private sector organizations.
