THE CHESAPEAKE TRI-ASSOCIATION, INC. (CTA) WAS INCORPORATED IN MARYLAND IN 2012 FOR THE PURPOSE OF FACILITATING THE JOINT ACTIVITIES OF THE THREE (3) MEMBER ASSOCIATIONS.THE MEMBER ASSOCIATIONS INCLUDE: CHESAPEAKE WATER ENVIRONMENT ASSOCIATION, INC., CHESAPEAKE SECTION AMERICAN WATER WORKS ASSOCIATION, INC., AND THE WATER & WASTE OPERATORS ASSOCIATION OF MARYLAND, DELAWARE AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA. IN PURSUANCE OF THESE PURPOSES THE CORPORATION SHALL HAVE THE POWERS TO CARRY ON ANY BUSINESS OR OTHER ACTIVITY PROPER AND CONSISTENT WITH MAINTAINING TAX EXEMPT STATUS UNDER SECTION 501(C)(3). FUTURE JOINT ACTIVITIES OF THE THREE MEMBER ASSOCIATIONS MAY BE ADDED, BUT PRESENTLY CTA FACILITATES TWO ANNUAL EVENTS. THOSE EVENTS ARE KNOWN AS THE TRI-ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE AND THE SHORT COURSE.
