THE ORGANIZATION WAS ESTABLISHED TO MAINTAIN AND IMPROVE STANDARDS IN INDEPENDENT ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION IN CONNECTICUT; TO SERVE AS AN EVALUATING ORGANIZATION FOR INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS IN THE STATE, TO COOPERATE WITH THE CT STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION; AND TO PERPETUATE THE TRADITIONAL FREEDOM OF THE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL TO PRACTICE ITS PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION.
