FOUNDED IN 2003, THE FAMILY INVESTMENT FOUNDATION, INC. (THE "FOUNDATION") IS A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT BETWEEN THE FOUNDATION, INDIVIDUALS AND BUSINESSES WITHIN THE COMMUNITY, LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES TO SUPPLEMENT AND COMPLEMENT LOCAL GOVERNMENT EFFORTS TO ADDRESS THE SOCIAL, EDUCATIONAL, ECONOMIC AND HEALTH ISSUES AND NEEDS OF THE GREATER KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE COMMUNITY. THE FOUNDATION IS A 501(C)3 COMPONENT UNIT OF KCDC.KCDC IS THE HOUSING AUTHORITY FOR KNOXVILLE AND KNOX COUNTY AND THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR THE CITY OF KNOXVILLE. THE FOUNDATION WAS CREATED TO ASSIST IN SERVICES TO THOSE INDIVIDUALS LIVING IN KCDC HOUSING WITH AMI'S OF 50% OR BELOW, INCLUDING ACCESS TO SOCIAL SERVICES, HEALTH SERVICES, AFFORDABLE HOUSING, FOOD ACCESS, AND OTHER COMMUNITY SERVICES.
