The Greater Peace Community Development Corporation seeks to: forge common community identity and develop shared vision among major groups and stakeholders within the community for the development of community based leadership to economically revitalize distressed neighborhoods in Opelika, Alabama, Auburn, Alabama and the Lee County area; develop a stable environment that promotes sound business investments and entrepreneurial opportunities; partner with other entities to provide entrepreneurial training one-on-one entrepreneurship counseling, networking and access to capital through microenterprise service; foster commercial development; outreach to welfare recipients by including their participation in the comprehensive entrepreneurship program by assisting them transition off welfare and to use self-employment as an alternative way of life; develop leadership skills in youth, provide affordable and meaningful family day care services to families; develop affordable living facilities
