ISLAMORADA'S CONSERVATION AND RESTORATION EDUCATION (ICARE) IS DEDICATED TO INCORPROATING EFFORTS OF LOCAL BUSINESSES, RESIDENTS AND VISITORS IN RESTORING AND MAINTAINING CORAL REEF COMMUNITIES IN ISLAMORADA, FL. THE MISSION IS TO INCREASE COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IN REEF CONSERVATION THROUGH CITIZEN SCIENCE AND EDUCATION, CORAL TRANSPLANTATION AND CONTINUED MONITORING OF CORALS, REEF FISHES AND INVERTEBRATES. THE GOALS FOR THE REEF ARE TO COLLECT DATA ON THE FACTORS IMPACTING CORAL TRANSPLANT SURVIVAL, INCREASE CORAL COVER FROM 3-5% TO 10% OVER THE NEXT THREE YEARS, TO HELP ECOLOGICAL PROCESEES TO THESE REEF COMMUNITIES, WHILE INCREASING EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBERS OF THE RECREATIONAL DIVING COMMUNITY
