THE ORGANIZATION WORKS TO INFORM REGIONAL AND NATIONAL EFFORTS TO END HOMELESSNESS BY PROVIDING HMIS TRAINING AND SUPPORT WHICH ALLOWS COMMUNITIES TO COLLECT DATA ON HOMELESSNESS AND ALLOWS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT, IMPLEMENTATION, (SEE SCH. O)AND EVALUATION OF EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES WHOSE EFFECTIVELNESS CAN BE TRACKED THROUGH OBJECTIVE MEASURES. THE USE OF HMIS HAS ALLOWED POLICYMAKERS, ACADEMIC RESEARCHERS, AND COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS TO MORE FULLY AND PRECISELY UNDERSTAND THE SIZE, SCOPE, AND DYNAMICS OF HOMELESSNESS IN AMERICA.
