Karuna Horse Rescue rescues horses from cruelty, abandonment, and neglect, most pulled from kill pens bound for slaughter. Our rehabilitation philosophy is horse-centered and nurtures the Horse Within to return to return the animal to a natural state of Liberty and Well-Being. We provide forever sanctuary for the Karuna herd, and the rescued horse become partners in our mission of rehabilitation and sanctuary. They are our primary teachers in what Horses at Liberty means for human beings. Karuna works in the greater community with sanctuaries, animal advocates, forever families and local businesses who share our core belief that horses deserve a compassionate, natural environment and a life with dignity.
