Maki international works with impoverished women and families in the Ayacucho region of Peru. We work with incarcerated women in the prison in Huanta, whom are mostly incarcerated for drug trafficking. We have built a classroom and provide instruction in traditional artisan crafts while teaching cooperation and discipline among the group. The women subsequently sell these items, generating revenue that enables them to cover their basic necessities and provide financial support for their children and families. Maki International supports an elementary school in Occollo, a remote town in the Andes, by providing breakfast and lunch to the children there. Our mission is to provide nutritious food to the school children, thereby ensuring their well-being, eliminating anemia and facilitating their academic progress. We also teach rural families how to successfully raise guinea pigs. These individuals are then equipped to establish and operate their own guinea pig farms, enabling them to sell
