THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE EDUCATIONAL AND RESEARCH TRUST IS TO SERVE THE MENTAL HEALTH AND EDUCATIONAL NEEDS OF ALL CHILDREN AND YOUTH AND TO ENCOURAGE AND PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE GROWTH OF SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY AS A PROFESSIONAL SPECIALTY. THE TRUST ALSO ASSISTS WITH THE EDUCATIONAL ADVANCEMENT OF MINORITY INDIVIDUALS IN THE PROFESSION OF SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY AND WORKS TO INFORM THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE SERVICES AND PRACTICE OF SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY IN THE SCHOOLS. THE TRUST ALSO WORKS TO ADVANCE THE STANDARDS OF THE PROFESSION OF SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY TO THE BENEFIT OF ALL CHILDREN AND YOUTH THROUGH ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIPS TO NASP MEMBERS WHO SUBMIT AWARD WINNING PROPOSALS.
