The organization promotes social welfare to further the common good and general welfare of the people of the community for purposes within the meaning of section 501c4 of the Internal Revenue Code including but not limited to reforming local state and federal laws on social justice issues including the adoption of non-punitive drug laws increases in the minimum wage and the expansion of voting rights. The work includes the following: i to educate the public and to promote discussions solutions and advancements on these issues ii to shape draft support and advocate for legislative reforms and ballot initiatives and other efforts that will advance reform and change laws on these issues iii to educate lawmakers and promote government policies that will implement reforms on these issues iv to educate the public to bring greater awareness and foster greater understanding of how such reforms further enhance the public interest and v for other lawful purposes.
