THE PURPOSE OF NEW ENGLAND ANIMAL SANCTUARY INC. (REFERRED TO HEREIN AS THE CORPORATION) IS TO ENGAGE IN CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES, AS WELL AS ACTIVITIES FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS, WITHIN THE MEANING OF SECTION 501(C)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE OF 1986 OR CORRESPONDING PROVISIONS OF ANY FUTURE UNITED STATES REVENUE LAW (REFERRED TO HEREIN AS THE CODE). SPECIFICALLY, THE CORPORATION'S PRINCIPAL OBJECT IS TO PROVIDE SANCTUARY FOR ANIMALS AND TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT ANIMAL EXPLOITATION AND ABUSE. COUNTLESS ANIMALS ARE SUBJECTED TO UNUSUALLY CRUEL PRACTICES AND SLAUGHTER WITHIN THE CURRENT FACTORY FARMING, LAB TESTING, AND OTHER ANIMAL EXPLOITATION BASED ECONOMIES. THE CORPORATION AIMS TO RESCUE FARMED, ABUSED AND LAB TESTED ANIMALS AND PROVIDE THEM SANCTUARY TO LIVE OUT THE REST OF THEIR NATURAL LIVES, AND TO SPREAD THE MESSAGE THAT ANIMALS ARE ALL INTELLIGENT AND SENTIENT BEINGS WHO DESERVE TO LIVE FREE OF CRUEL PRACTICES AND SLAUGHTER.
