THE FUND WAS ESTABLSIHED TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIP AND RELATED ECONOMIC ASSISTANCE TO THE FAMILIES OF FIRE OFFICERS AND FIREFIGHTERS OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK FIRE DEPARTMENT WHO HAVE DIED OR BECOME SERIOUSLY DISABLED WHILE IN SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE OF CITY OF NEW YORK.
