THE ORGANIZATION WILL FUND RESEARCH INTO THE TESTS FOR STI, AND ONCE BUILT, PROVIDE THE TESTS TO PATIENTS. ADDITIONALLY, IT WILL FOCUS ON EDUCATION FOR PROVIDERS AND PATIENTS TO INFORM THEM OF THE PROBLEMS WITH OUR EXISTING MEDIATIONS AND THE NEW CDC TREATMENT GUIDELINES. FINALLY, IT WILL FUND ADVOCACY TO CHANGE THE PAYER POLICIES TO ALLOW FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT OF SUCH TESTS SO THEY BECOME UBIQUITOUS. WITHOUT A PRACTICAL PATH TOWARDS GAINING REIMBURSEMENT, HOSPITALS AND LABORATORIES WILL NOT HAVE THE FINANCIAL INCENTIVES NECESSARY FOR WIDESPREAD TESTING ADOPTION. THE ORGANIZATION WILL EDUCATE PROVIDERS AND PATIENTS, RESEARCH TREATMENT PATHWAYS, AND ADVOCATE FOR CHANGE TO PAYER POLICIES. THIS WILL BE OUR FIRST MEANINGFUL STEP TOWARDS OUR LONG-TERM GOAL OF ALLEVIATING THE SUFFERING CAUSED BY STIS.
