THERE CAN BE MANY CHALLENGES THAT AN INDIVIDUAL OR FAMILY CAN FACE WHEN IT COMES TO THERAPY. OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY IS PLAGUED BY WAIT LISTS FOR PEDIATRIC THERAPY. WAIT LISTS CAN BE MONTHS LONG AND HAVE HUNDREDS AHEAD OF YOUR CHILD. IMAGINE WAITING AND NEEDING TO SEEK THERAPY FOR YOUR CHILD ONLY TO BE TOLD YOU HAVE TO WAIT. INSURANCE CAS ALSO POSE A GREAT CHALLENGE. A THERAPY CAP IS THE DOLLAR AMOUNT THAT ONE'S INSURANCE ALLOWS. ONCE THESE CAPS HAVE BEEN MET, INSURANCE COVERAGE MIGHT BE DENIED, LEAVING FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY WITH THE PATIENT OR FAMILIES. WITH LIMITATIONS ON AVAILABILITY IN OUR COMMUNITY FOR PEDIATRIC THERAPY, AND CHALLENGES THAT COME WITH INSURANCE, THE TRIALS THAT PATIENTS AND FAMILIES FACE CAN BE VERY INTIMIDATING, AND FINANCIALLY OVERWHELMING.
