Mission

SHF's SMILE! Project provides free and low-cost practical information about canine behavior for shelter & rescue personnel, veterinarians, boarding staff, trainers and dog-owners, so they can better help at-risk dogs. This outreach is done mostly via a book & online videos created for the purpose. SHF volunteers also maintain the Dragonfly Dog Park & Nature Trails and care for sanctuary goats, birds, honeybee colonies, turtles, cats & dogs. They rescue at-risk honeybee colonies and occasionally rescue, foster, rehab and rehome at-risk dogs.
