SEVEN MOUNTAINS EMS COUNCIL, INC. IS AN INDEPENDENT NON-PROFIT CORPORATION THAT IS CONTRACTED THROUGH THE PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH (DOH) TO COORDINATE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE (EMS) PROGRAMS WITHIN A NINE-COUNTY AREA OF CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA. THE REGION ENCOMPASSES THE COUNTIES OF CENTRE, CLINTON, COLUMBIA, JUNIATA, MIFFLIN, MONTOUR, NORTHUMBERLAND, SNYDER, AND UNION. THROUGH CONTRACT, THE COUNCIL BECOMES DOH'S AGENT FOR THE REGIONAL EMS AGENCIES WHEREBY ASSISTING THEM IN MEETING THE REQUIREMENTS OF ACT 37 (EMS SYSTEMS ACT) AND OTHER DOH RULES AND REGULATIONS.
