THE PURPOSE OF SHOREWOOD HILLS SWIM AND DIVE CLUB, INC. (SHSD) IS TO SUPPORT YOUTH SWIMMING AND DIVING BY ORGANIZING TEAM ACTIVITIES, PURCHASING EQUIPMENT AND SERVICES, FUNDRAISING AND RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS.THE PRIMARY ACTIVITY OF SHSD IS TO ORGANIZE SWIM AND DIVE TEAM COMPETITIONS. SWIM AND DIVE MEETS REQUIRE THOROUGH PLANNING, COORDINATED LEADERSHIP, AND AN EXTRAORDINARY NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS IN ORDER TO BE WELL-ORGANIZED, EFFICIENT AND SAFE. THESE SWIM AND DIVE COMPETITIONS ALLOW YOUTH TO NOT ONLY LEARN HOW TO SWIM AND DIVE BUT ALSO HOW TO COMPETE TO THEIR POTENTIAL AS A MEMBER OF A TEAM. EACH SUMMER, YOUTH ON THE SWIM AND DIVE TEAMS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO COMPETE IN A NUMBER OF DUAL MEETS (AGAINST ONE TEAM) AND IN ONE END-OF-THE-SEASON LARGE COMPETITION THAT INCLUDES ALL OF THE SWIM AND DIVE TEAMS IN THE CITY.
