THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS TO COLLECT, PRESERVE, ACT AS A DEPOSITORY OF ARTIFACTS AND EXHIBITS, COMPILE, AND EXHIBIT INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THE CHESAPEAKE BAY STEAMBOATS AND ERA COINCIDENT TO THEIR USE IN THE CHESAPEAKE BAY AND TRIBUTARIES. THE MUSEUM EDUCATES THE GENERAL PUBLIC ABOUT THE PERIOD OF HISTORY UNIQUE TO THE CHESAPEAKE BAY STEAMBOAT ERA FROM APPROXIMATELY 1813 TO 1937.
