NEW RECRUITS BEGIN A MASTERS OF ARTS IN TEACHING AT A LOCAL UNIVERSITY WHILE EARNING A FULL-TIME SALARY IN THE CLASSROOM AS A TEACHER OF RECORD. MANY OF OUR TEACHERS WORK IN HIGH POVERTY SCHOOLS, WHERE THE NEED FOR TALENTED EDUCATIONS IS THE GREATEST. TEACH KENTUCKY IS NOT ONLY COMMITTED TO RECRUITING BRIGHT YOUNG MINDS TO THE EDUCATION PROFESSION, BUT TO RETAINING THEM IN IT. ITS PROGRAM PROVIDES ADDITIONAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF FIRST AND SECOND YEAR TEACHERS, AND A MENTORING PROGRAM RUN BY RETIRED EDUCATORS AND ADMINISTRATORS.
