THE ASSOCIATION PROMOTES THE COMMON BUSINESS INTERESTS OF ITS MEMBERS BY ENGAGING IN ACTIVITIES TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC AND POLICYMAKERS ON ISSUES RELATED TO TAX ADMINISTRATION. THE ASSOCIATION WAS FOUNDED TO ENSURE THAT TAXPAYERS HAVE THE OPTION OF USING PRIVATE-SECTOR TAX PREPARERS TO PREPARE THEIR TAX RETURNS, AND TO OPPOSE EFFORTS TO HAVE GOVERNMENT-PREPARED TAX RETURNS. IN ADDITION, THE ASSOCIATION WORKS TO ENSURE THAT TAXPAYERS HAVE THE OPTION OF CHOOSING THE DELIVERY METHOD FOR RECEIVING A TAX REFUND AND/OR CHOOSING FINANCIAL PRODUCTS THAT MEET THEIR PARTICULAR NEEDS.
