The City Tutors (CT) is NYC's educational subway-a free, citywide learning and career center open to everyone, centering first-gen, immigrant, and historically low-resourced communities. We operate through a select network of partner "Stops" that run year-round: some offer on-site 1:1 tutoring; mentorship appears on-site through career-pathway events and workshops. Learners can also "hop on" virtually for individualized tutoring and mentoring at a time and pace that works for them. CT is powered by volunteers and sustained by project-based and yearlong sponsorships. We're a 501(c)(3) that began as a CUNY program, founded by Garri Rivkin, an educator and CUNY alum who immigrated to NYC as a refugee.
