THE PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO MAINTAIN IN THE CITY OF ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA, A SUITABLE MEMORIAL TEMPLE TO GEORGE WASHINGTON, THE MASON, WHICH EXPRESSES IN DURABILITY AND BEAUTY, THE EXALTED AND UNDYING ESTEEM OF THE FREEMASONS OF THE UNITED STATES FOR HIM, OUR NATION'S FIRST PRESIDENT. THE MEMORIAL PROVIDES SUITABLE ACCOMODATIONS FOR THE SAFE-KEEPING AND EXHIBITION OF THE INVALUABLE RELICS OF GEORGE WASHINGTON. A LIBRARY AND MUSEUM ARE MAINTAINED IN THE MEMORIAL THAT ARE OF GREAT EDUCATIONAL VALUE IN TEACHING PATRIOTISM AND HONORING THE MEMORY OF GEORGE WASHINGTON.
