THE MISSION OF THE MUSEUM OF THE SHENANDOAH VALLEY (MSV) IS TO PRESERVE AND ENRICH THE CULTURAL LIFE AND HERITAGE OF THE VALLEY. A CULTURAL SITE THAT SERVES THE ENTIRE REGION, THE MSV FULFILLS ITS MISSION BY PRESENTING A WIDE VARIETY OF EXHIBITIONS, OFFERING AN EXTENSIVE SCHEDULE OF EDUCATIONAL AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING, OPERATING A 90-ACRE ART PARK ON ITS LANDSCAPE, PRESERVING THE LARGEST GREEN SPACE AND ONLY OUTDOOR WORKING FARM IN THE CITY OF WINCHESTER, AND ACTIVELY BUILDING AND CARING FOR A COLLECTION OF OBJECTS WHICH TELL THE VALLEY'S STORY, INCLUDING THE GLEN BURNIE HOUSE AND THE COLLECTION OF ITS LAST OCCUPANT, THE FORMAL SEVEN-ACRE GARDENS SURROUNDING THE HOUSE, AND ROSE HILL FARM PARK, A PUBLIC PARK AND CIVIL WAR BATTLEFIELD SITE. THE MSV CELEBRATES THE VALLEY'S PAST, SERVES AS A VIBRANT CULTURAL CENTER IN THE PRESENT, AND UTILIZES ITS ENTIRE CAMPUS FOR EDUCATIONAL AND PUBLIC PROGRAMMING INCLUDING GARDEN SPACES, GALLERIES, CLASSROOMS, A MAKERSPACE STUDIO, AND THE TRAILS.
