THE MISSION OF THE JACKSONVILLE CHILDREN'S CHORUS IS TO PROVIDE HIGH- QUALITY CHORAL MUSIC EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN OF DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS, FOSTERING TEAMWORK, SELF-DISCIPLINE, ACCOMPLISHMENT AND PRIDE, WHILE FILLING AN IMPORTANT CULTURAL NEED IN THE COMMUNITY AND SHARING THE BEAUTY OF THE CHORAL ART FORM THROUGH ARTISTICALLY EXCELLENT PERFORMANCES. THIS IS ACHIEVED THROUGH WEEKLY REHEARSALS WHERE CHILDREN, AGES 6-18, IN THE VARIOUS CHOIRS (PRIMARY, TRAINING, INTERMEZZO, CONCERT, AND TOURING) DEVELOP AND HONE THEIR SKILLS. THE CHILDREN PERFORM THROUGHOUT NORTHEAST FLORIDA FOR A VARIETY OF AUDIENCES IN A VAST ARRAY OF VENUES. JCC SELF-PRODUCES FIVE CONCERTS PER YEAR. THIRTY-TWO PERCENT OF THE CHILDREN RECEIVE FULL OR PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIPS, ENABLING A DIVERSE REPRESENTATION FROM THE COMMUNITY.
