To serve the various communities in which the union members of local unions affiliated with the Joint Council of Teamsters 42 reside, as well as other communities where teamster members reside by promoting the welfare of teamster members and other persons, generally who have financial, medical, or social needs. Said purpose shall be served by the following, and other means: Contributions to charitable organizations which are tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code which serve the communities of the Teamsters' membership and the rendering of financial or other assistance to needy or disabled teamster members.
