Uvalde New School Foundation intends to support Uvalde CISD Moving Forward Foundation by obtaining financing for the construction, leasing and equipping of an elementary school located in Uvalde County, Texas. Uvalde CISD Moving Forward Foundation was formed to support the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (the District) and its education mission in connection with recovery from the school shooting that occurred on May 24, 2022. The Corporation will lease the new elementary school to the District to operate the school through an operating lease agreement. The Corporation obtained financing through the New Markets Tax Credit Program to enable the Corporation to offer more favorable rent terms for the operation of the new elementary school which, based upon an independent expert, will be substantially below fair market rents.
